I’m sure the majority of native Chinese would struggle to pinpoint the location of most of these cities. What does this indicate? The highest growth rates of international tourists now lie in lower-tier Chinese cities. Top 4 on this list are all in southern Yunan province.

Data shows Chinese tourists in N.America and Europe pretty much doubled from last year.

Very interesting to see that WeChat cross-border pay is so heavily weighted towards duty-free stores currently. Perhaps this is skewed somewhat by the high purchase value of items bought at duty-free.
